Meet Betty
Betty has worked in the hair, beauty and massage industry for over 25 years. During this time she has trained, practiced and qualified in a wide range of treatment areas. Listening forms the core of each treatment session; this may be via a specific client request, or through Betty’s ability to tune-in to the client’s body by drawing upon her many years of experience.

Over the years, as lifestyles have changed, Betty has witnesses first-hand the impact this has had on clients’ skin, body, and wellbeing. In response to these changes Betty expanded her interest and training to include Shaman Meditation, Reiki to master level, Reflexology, Life-Coaching, Japanese Acupressure, diet and Sports Massage.
With her knowledge and experience her style and approach to work is now practiced at a much deeper level. She has the ability to tune into specific hot spots, and when combined with the right amount of pressure, feeling, awareness and focus, Betty works intuitively with client’s feedback to gain measurable results in elevating stresses, strains and any pain felt in the client’s body. This multi-disciplinary holistic approach has gained her a reputation as an effective, compassionate, and considered massage/holistic practitioner.
Betty has trained personally with Eve Taylor in Aromatherapy Massage and uses her range of products for Skin-care, Facials, and Body Spa Treatments.
For any customer in need of waxing, or wanting to try it out for the first time, Betty is know to make everyone feel relaxed and comfortable. She works with speed and confidence and has many many repeat customers.
Betty has a love of learning and has completed her teaching qualification. She is aiming to expand her acupressure studies towards Practitioner level in Shiatsu, and at some point hopes to
continue her tutoring role to pass-on her skills and knowledge to a new generation of therapists.
Betty’s Place
Customers would always refer to Betty’s salons over the years as Betty’s Place…so it made perfect sense to adopt the name.
Betty’s Place is situated in the heart of the university area, inside a fully refurbished listed building on University Street. Known for its vibrant energy, cafes, restaurants, independent shops, museums, art-house cinema and Botanic Gardens, the Queen’s Quarter of Belfast is the perfect spot for Betty’s latest salon venture.
The vision for the building was to create a homely welcoming environment for customers to have a variety of complementary treatments under the one roof.
Customers can spend the day with partners or friends getting their hair, make-up, nails and massage treatments in comfortable vibrant surroundings. The salon has a unique style and decor, mixing raw materials with new. Every space of the building has been thought through, using different textures, lighting, and colour zones to mark out different working areas.
On the ground floor you have the buzz of a hair salon, leading to a unique and tranquil space of a sun-trap garden, with seating and mature planting – a retreat from the city where clients can relax and mix after their treatment.
There are two further treatment rooms on the upper floors that provide opportunity for a range of complementary treatments.

All the staff are well qualified and self employed taking their own appointments and working specific days that suit their own lifestyles and customers. We pride ourselves as a friendly bunch with everyone bringing something different to the team, supporting each other where we can.
